This is an updated version of the SWoFFA titled; ‘Building Better’. It was first published in 2020. With gratitude, we would like to say a big thank you to all our treasured grassroots members and partners of AWAC for freely sharing your perspectives during the updating of the SWoFFA 2024 during the field consultations and the validation meeting on 8^th March 2024. We do not take your time, information shared and sacrifices for granted.

Our development partner, The Initiative Marianne through the Embassy of France to Uganda who has supported the updating process is deeply appreciated in the same way. This support builds on previous support from Urgent Action Fund Africa, American Jewish World Services (AJWS), UNAIDS, UN Women, UNFPA, PEPFAR/CDC through IDI, AWDF, Frontline AIDS, RHSP and Mild-May Uganda.

The updating process still builds on the un-formidable and solid SWoFAA 2020 version which was informed by rural and peri-urban grass root female sex workers’ leaders from across the six regions of Uganda, the duty bearers, health workers, civil society organization representatives, implementing partners, donor agencies, the Police, Ministry of health, Uganda Aids Commission (UAC), Religious, cultural, local government leaders and everyone who contributed to the development of this Sex Workers’ Feminist Advocacy Agenda.

The technical teams at AWAC who have lent leadership and supported this updating process are positively acknowledged in the same way.
